Naidu anti-farmer, says Congress
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 7.
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has charged the Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, with waging a proxy war against farmers in the name of campaign against corruption.
The APCC spokesman, G. Muddukrishnama Naidu, and the secretary, G. Rudra Raju, in a statement, deplored the conduct of Mr. Naidu in the Assembly today. The Supreme Court's observations in the liquor case had made the TDP jittery, they said.
The Congress leaders said the TDP was not only unable to digest its defeat but was also uneasy over the Government's plans to build massive irrigation projects. The completion of projects would spell doom for the TDP. They attributed to the defeat of the TDP in the Assembly elections to its "anti-farmer policies."
