BJP plans agitation
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 7.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will launch an agitation soon against the "sloppy manner" in which the Congress Government is handling the irrigation sector.
Former Union Minister, Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, and the BJP general secretary, K. Laxman, alleged that money was being misused and that the Government neither had a clear-cut irrigation plan nor was it going about the subject methodically. They said the Government did not appear to have taken the "cost benefit ratio" into consideration and was going ahead with projects at will. They demanded that the Government come out with more clarity.
Recalling the party's earlier agitation, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao said this time, the protest would be forceful enough to make the Government see reason.
