CHANDIGARH, DEC.7. The body of an Army officer, Major Lalit, who was killed by the Hizbul Muzahideen along with 11 other jawans near Rakheltar village in Pulwama district last Saturday, was cremated with full State honours at Jind in Haryana today. Major Lalit was returning after a search operation along with 11 others when their Tata Sumo vehicle was severely damaged by militants through a remote control device resulting in their death. The funeral procession passed through various localities of Jind to enable the people to pay their last respects. The shopkeepers also downed their shutters to condole his death. The Deputy Commissioner of Jind, Rajiv Sharma, laid a wreath on the body on behalf of the Chief Minister, Om Prakash Chautala.
