BANGALORE, DEC. 7. Army XI scored a fluent 4-0 victory over Madras Engineering Group in the Deccan Herald Super Division league hockey tournament here on Tuesday. The winner led 1-0 at the half time in the only fixture of the day. Suresh Kumar (Sr.) was on target when the second penalty corner was taken by the Army XI in the 20th minute of the match. In the second half, Mahadik made it 2-0 for the Army XI with a fine effort in the 37th minute. Madras Engineering Group missed a golden opportunity to score when the penalty stroke taken by Binay Prakash Kujur was pushed wide. Harpreet Singh slotted home the seventh penalty corner in the 60th minute and Pawan Lakra pushed in the eighth penalty corner in the 68th minute to round off a comprehensive win. MEG also missed scoring off four penalty corners apart from the missed penalty stroke.
