MYSORE, DEC. 7. Senior officials of the Medical Education Directorate visited Krishna Rajendra Hospital here today to conduct an inquiry into the conduct of a senior doctor in the Surgery Department. The team, comprising the Director of Medical Education, Ramananda Shetty, and the Executive Officer, Mahendra, visited the hospital following complaints from some doctors regarding the conduct of their colleague. It is learnt that while the doctor who was under the scanner was summoned by the team to hear his version, the team also asked doctors in general to refine their behaviour. Junior doctors in the Surgery Department had alleged that a particular senior doctor was harassing them, and they were unable to perform effectively under his supervision. It was learnt that the team also inquired about the death of an individual from Hunsur in the Burns Ward about two years ago. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), T.R. Suresh, also spoke to the team. The court, hearing about the unnatural death of the individual, had sent a memo to the department asking a reason for not taking a statement from the individual before his death. The Superintendent of the hospital, S.R. Mahimanjan Singh, the principal of Mysore Medical College, Raghottam, and other officials of the directorate were present during the inquiry.
