KOCHI, DEC. 7. The newly-elected chairman of Kalamassery municipality, N. K. Pavithran, has accused the DCC president, K. P. Dhanapalan, of trying to harm the interests of the party. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Pavithran charged Mr. Dhanapalan of acting like a `liquidator' of the party in the district. The Congress was retaining power only in one municipality in the district instead of ruling in six. The party had lost power in many panchayats as well. Mr. Dhanapalan was behaving like a dictator, taking decisions on his own without consulting anyone, Mr. Pavithran charged.
