Cash awards for property tax payers

HYDERABAD, DEC.7. The Municipal Corporation has announced cash prizes worth Rs. 5 lakhs through a lottery draw for all citizens paying property tax in full for the year 2004-05 with arrears without penal interest before December 31, 2004 and those paying with penal interest before January 31, 2005.

The bumper prize winner will get a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, two first prize winners get Rs. 25,000 each, four second prize winners get Rs. 15,000 each, eight third prize winners Rs. 5,000 each and 250 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 each. In all two hundred and sixtyfive prizes are to be given away.

The MCH Commissioner, Chitra Ramachandran, in a press release here on Tuesday appealed to the citizens to verify the property tax payment details from www.ourmch.com site or from the Deputy Municipal Commissioners concerned and clear their dues if any by the next month end to be eligible for the prizes.

The prize money is being sponsored by the State Bank of Hyderabad's Tank Bund branch.
