By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 7. An apartment building watchman allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of a housewife at knifepoint after entering inside the flat and asking for drinking water in Srinagar colony on Monday.

The woman sustained bleeding injuries on the neck while resisting the intruder.

The Panjagutta police launched a hunt for Subba Rao who fled after the woman raised an alarm. Watchman of Krishna Satyaki Apartments, Rao knocked on the door of the victim's flat around 3.45 p.m. When the woman went inside to bring water, Rao bolted the doors and attempted to outrage her modesty by threatening her with a knife.

After a few minutes, someone rang the calling bell forcing Rao to hide in a corner. After the bell stopped ringing, a scared Rao fled the place. Neighbours alerted the police on hearing cries of the woman and shifted her to a hospital.
