BANGALORE, DEC. 7. Gold chains worth Rs. 25,000 each were snatched from three women in incidents reported in Jayanagar, Siddapur and Banashankari police station limits on Monday evening. In Jayanagar 4th T Block, a chain was snatched from Geeta (45) when she was entering her house. A person on a motorcycle snatched a chain from Manohara Bai (52) of Jayanagar 1st Block near Byarasandra. Two persons on a motorcycle threatened Lalita (70) of Katriguppe East with a knife and snatched her chain at Channammakere Achakattu. She was returning home after performing puja at a temple. When she shouted for help, some persons caught one of the two accused and handed him over to the police. Responding to the three incidents, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said: "We are strengthening the patrolling during the day." He said the police were analysing chain-snatching incidents to evolve measures to prevent the crime.
