NEW DELHI, DEC. 7. The CBI today chargesheeted a Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector for allegedly taking bribe from a person for diluting charges levelled against him. Filing the chargesheet in the court of Special Judge H P Sharma, the CBI alleged that ASI Suresh Kaushik had demanded and accepted Rs 2000 from complainant Gagan Hoon on April 15, 2004. According to the prosecution, Kaushik had called Hoon to Vasant Vihar police station and told him that a complaint had been filed against him. She allegedly demanded Rs 12,000 from the complainant for quashing the complaint and asked Rs 2000 as the first installment. Hoon lodged a written complaint with the CBI against the police official about the demand. The CBI had organised a trap to nab Kaushik. Kaushik was arrested while demanding and accepting the money from Hoon. The accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
