Letters to the Editor
Sir, The attack on the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah is an ominous harbinger of things to come. It has become clear that the U.S. attacked Iraq without any justification. It is time the U.S. realised that the global war on terror, American style, is far from being a success.
Susan Kunnirickal Joseph,
* * * Sir, The fact that a few militants launched a brazen attack on the U.S. consulate shows how the best of security arrangements can come to naught in the face of a suicide attack. Thus, President George W. Bush's claim that the world has become a safer place after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein sounds hollow.
D.B.N. Murthy,
