Kent signs up Hall

By P. Subramanyam

LONDON, DEC. 8. Kent County CC has signed South Africa's all-rounder, Andrew Hall as its overseas player for the summer 2005 season, it was announced.

Hall, who recently retained his Test place on the tour of India, spent the last two summers with Worcestershire and is fully aware of the county cricket set-up and its continuous demands.

"Kent has a squad capable of being competitive in all forms of cricket and I very much hope I will be able to help them achieve success in 2005. Being a pivotal player in helping the squad deliver is very motivating," said the 29-year-old South African.

Kent's captain, David Fulton said: "We've been looking for the right all-rounder that's so important to the balance of our side in four and one-day cricket."
