ISLAMABAD, DEC. 8. The Pakistan Foreign Minister, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, has said that the proposed Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service would "get operational soon." Taking part in a talk show on a private television channel, Mr. Kasuri said the Government was aware of the problems being faced by the people. He said with political will, all problems would be overcome. Mr. Kasuri said there was a need to resolve all outstanding disputes between Pakistan and India and bring peace and stability to the region. "The two countries are moving slowly, but in the right direction," he said.
Resumption agreed
Mr. Kasuri said talks on the Khokhrapar-Munabao link, linking Sindh with Rajasthan were not stalled. He said the delay in the resumption of the rail service was only due to technical aspects and that it had been agreed to resume the rail service in principle. Mr. Kasuri referred to the growing people-to-people contacts between the two countries in the recent past and said a lot of progress has been made. However, he said, "we have a lot of distance to travel ... and the strong lobbies on both sides will have a salutary affect on the leaders."
