Uproar over power shortage

By Our Staff Correspondent

BHOPAL, DEC. 8. The Madhya Pradesh Assembly was briefly adjourned today and the Congress-led opposition even boycotted the House protesting over the Bharatiya Janata Party-led State Government's failure to tackle the power crisis.

Immediately after question hour, the Congress members were on their toes protesting and raising slogans against the blanket power shedding in the State due to acute power shortage. In the midst of all the noise and fury, the Speaker, Ishwardas Rohani, adjourned the House for ten minutes. When the House reassembled, the Congress MLAs once again began protesting and came to the well of the house raising slogans.

The Speaker allowed normal business to proceed even in the midst of all the noise and commotion. It was at this juncture that that the Congress members walked out.
