Mild tension in old city

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 8. Some localities in Old City witnessed mild tension late on Wednesday night following Tuesday night's incident when some miscreants allegedly burnt a religious flag, near the Gowlipura market.

Tempers ran high as rumours of trouble flew thick and fast following the incident. However, the police, community elders and the peace committee members defused the situation by pacifying the locals.

While the situation had returned to normal in the area within an hour on Tuesday, trouble started again today with stray incidents of stone pelting being reported. However, the police denied reports of stone pelting and maintained that the situation was totally under control.
