Mill worker's bid to cheat owners boomerangs
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 8.
A rice mill worker, Krishna's bid to dupe his employers of Rs. 3.17 lakhs in cash boomeranged when the police picked holes in his fictitious version of `cash bag snatching' incident. Krishna (26) was arrested and the entire amount he had hidden in his friend, Srihari's house at Rajendranagar was recovered by the Rajendranagar police on Wednesday.
The rice mill owners -- Ravinder and Jagdish -- handed over the money to Krishna to deposit in the office on December 6. Ravi came back saying two assailants had snatched away the cash bag by hurling chilli powder in his eyes while he was passing by Himayatsagar on a two-wheeler.
The employers grew suspicious and lodged a complaint with the police. During interrogation, Krishna confessed to the police that he had concocted the snatching story to steal the money.
