HYDERABAD, DEC. 8. Two recovery agents, including a woman, of the State Bank of India Credit Card division allegedly barged into the office of a pharmaceutical company owner and manhandled the latter's woman staff members at Asmanghad on Wednesday. The two accused, Naveen and Nandita, drove a Tata Sumo (no. AP 35A 6863). According to the complainant and managing director of Smith and Kenner pharmacy company, Jayaswami, the duo had kept a detachable wooden board reading `police' on the vehicle. Before forcing their way inside, they removed the board. It is said that Nandita was daughter of a senior police officer. However, Mr. Jayaswami did not make a mention of it in his complaint. "We also heard that Nandita's father was a policeman. But, this is yet to be confirmed," the Malakpet ACP, S. Vishwanatham, said.
Argument
Posing themselves as the bank's credit card wing recovery agents, Naveen and Nandita urged Dr. Jayaswami and his wife to clear the Rs. 1.7 lakh dues relating to their credit card. An argument ensued between them. When a couple of woman employees of the office intervened, Nandita and Naveen, pushed them aside and walked away threatening the pharmacy company owner of dire consequences. The industrialist told police that he and his wife, Shobha, made some transactions through the SBI credit card and owed Rs. 1.7 lakhs to the bank. The police registered a case under sections 443 (trespass) and 323 (assault) of IPC on receipt of a complaint from Dr. Jayaswami.
