Wild card for Prakash Amritraj

CHENNAI, DEC. 9. India's Prakash Amritraj has been awarded the first of the three wild cards into the main draw for the 2005 Chennai Open tennis championship scheduled at Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium between January 3 and 9.

"This is an exciting time for me. It was an enjoyable experience playing in Chennai last year (he lost to Frenchman Thierry Ascione in the second round), and I am looking forward to improving on my last year's performance. Injuries affected my performance in 2004 and I hope to run into form by playing against some of the top performers," said the 21-year-old son of Vijay Amritraj.
