Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI, DEC. 9. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu. Dry weather prevailed Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are:-

Thiruthuraipoondi and Nannilam (both Tiruvarur dt.) and Manamadurai (Sivagangai dt.) 2 each and Cholavaram (Tiruvallur dt.), Cheyyur (Kanchipuram dt.), Tiruvarur, Kodavasal (Tiruvarur dt.), Nagapattinam and Aranthangi (Pudukottai dt.) 1 each.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at a few places over north interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala at one or two places over Rayalaseema, rose at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Kerala, coastal Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were below normal at one or two places over Telangana, north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, above normal at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Medak recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated rain is likely to occur over south Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, north Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Forecast for Chennai City and Neighbourhood (valid until Saturday morning): Partly cloudy. Possibility of light rain in some areas.

Farmers Weather Bulletin For Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Forecast valid until Saturday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
