PONDICHERRY, DEC. 9. The Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee and its youth and students' wings organised special programmes today to celebrate the 58th birthday of the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi. The State Health Minister, E. Valsaraj, the Agriculture Minister, A Namassivayam, the Pondicherry PCC vice-chairman, V. Sabapathy, and legislators took part in a function at the PCC office. The Ministers distributed sweets and handed over tricycles to the disabled and sarees to poor women. The youth Congress committee members donated blood at the Government General Hospital. Special poojas were performed at the Sri Manakula Vinayakar templeand party volunteers pulled golden chariot inside the temple premises to add glitter to the celebration.
