KE-Burgmann to expand R & D activities
CHENNAI: KE-Burgmann Flexibles India, a wholly owned subsidiary of KE Burgmann of Denmark, is planning to expand its research and development activities. The company, which manufactures metal, rubber and fabric expansion joints, plans to invest Rs. 2 crores in a phased manner on R & D activities. The main focus would be to make India the manufacturing hub for the entire Asean region, said Finn Jacobsen, Managing Director of the Danish company. The Indian arm has entered into a collaboration agreement with Velammal Engineering College, Chennai, for its research and development work. The agreement would enable the students to develop R & D skills and showcase their talent at the global level, M. V. Muthuramalingam, Chairman, Velammal Educational Trust, said.
