Madhya Pradesh
By Our Staff Correspondent
BHOPAL, DEC. 9. The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta, Ripusudan Dayal, has said that it is a matter of great regret that the common man has formed the impression that bribe has to be paid even for getting every small or big piece of work done. The Lokayukta's report for 2002-2003 was tabled in the State Assembly today by the Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur. . Emphasising the need to create circumstances to assure the people that they do not have to pay bribe to get their work done, the Lokayukta has said that it would be possible only when the people stop respecting and tolerating those who are corrupt. It is a coincidence that soon after the Lokayukta's report was tabled the issue of alleged corruption in the purchase of paper by the Madhya Pradesh Text Book Corporation was raised in the House by Satyadeve Katare, Arif Aqueel and Narottam Mishra. Replying to the debate on this issue, the State Education Minister, Dhal Singh Bisen, even admitted that over the last ten years a single person had been submitting several tenders under fictitious names for supplying paper to the Corporation for printing text books.
