CHENNAI, DEC. 9. THE P olice filed charges in the Stephanie case on Wednesday at the XVIII Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Saidapet. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mylapore, K. P. Shanmuga Rajeswaran, said the arrested youths Venkatesan (21), Nestle (19), Denver (16) and Raja (22) were charged under Section 302 (murder), Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention); Section 354 (Assault with intention to outrage modesty and Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of women) and also under Section 4 A (2) (1) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women's Harassment Act. Stephanie (21), visited a hotel on Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, late on September 18, after work. When she came out of the hotel, she was reportedly chased by the four in a car and run over.
