TIRUPUR, DEC. 9. The Communist Party of India (CPI) will hold a day-long fast on December 12 at 50 centres in and around Tirupur town to urge the Highways Department and the Tirupur Municipality to re-lay and repair the ravaged roads across the town. "There is not a single stretch of motarable road in this town. Almost all the roads are in a very bad condition. Tirupur is now becoming an unfit place to live due to the poor condition of roads. We are organising the protest in a bid to draw the attention of the Government towards the need for relaying roads on a war footing," Ravi, town secretary of the CPI, said.
