BELGAUM, DEC. 10. An autorickshaw driver returned a bag containing jewellery to a passenger who had forgotten it in the vehicle. On Wednesday night, Mehboob Kasimsaab Mulla of Anagol found a bag containing jewellery weighing at least 400 gm, which was left behind in the autorickshaw by Keshav Hanmant Jamkhandi and his wife. The couple, who boarded the vehicle at Mahadev Galli to return to their home in Shivabasavanagar, forgot to pick up the bag while getting down. Mr. Mulla found the bag in his vehicle after he returned home. On opening it, he found the jewellery. But, since it was late in the night, he decided to return the bag the next day. Meanwhile, Mr. Jamkhandi lodged a complaint with the Khade Bazaar police. To his surprise, he found Mr. Mulla standing with the lost bag in front of his door on Thursday. Touched by the honesty of Mr. Mulla, Mr. Jamkhandi gifted him an ornament weighing nearly 10 gm. Subsequently, he withdrew the complaint he had lodged with the police. Later, the Superintendent of Police, Hemant Nimbalkar, felicitated Mr. Mulla and praised him for his honesty.
