Naidu relieved, but declines comment

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, DEC. 10. The Leader of the Opposition, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday looked happy but refused to comment on the Supreme Court order upholding the Andhra Pradesh High Court stay on the Anti-Corruption Bureau enquiry against him and others in the liquor case.

When mediapersons sought his comment on the order, Mr. Naidu said it was merely a technical point and nothing else, as was the case earlier when the Supreme Court lifted the stay.

He charged the Government with not showing any sincerity in implementation of the categorisation of the Scheduled Castes. The party had insisted on inclusion of the words "Constitutional amendment" in the Assembly resolution, which had become necessary after the recent Supreme Court judgment on the issue. But the Government was adamant. The TDP would now take it up with the Centre.
