ESI scheme for more villages

MADURAI, DEC.10. The Employees' State Insurance Corporation has extended the ESI scheme to revenue villages of Naalaattinputhur, Mudukkumeendanpatti, Vanaramutti, Thonukal of Kovilpatti taluk in Tuticorin district and Zamin Devarkulam, Vadakkupatti, Ilayarasanenthal, Ayyaneri, Appaneri, Pillayarnatham of Sankarankoil taluk of Tirunelveli district from November 1.

In a statement here today, the Joint Director of ESI Corporation, A. S. Meeran, said employees and their family members of the these areas could avail medical benefits through the ESI dispensary at Kovilpatti.

He called upon employers in the Kovilpatti area to have their factories or establishments registered under the ESI Act and take immediate steps to register all their employees.
