PATHANAMTHITTA, DEC. 10. Chandrashekharan Nair alias Hari, 29, of Vazhamuttom near Pathanamthitta was arrested from a Pampa-bound KSRTC bus by the Pampa police today on charges of illegal possession of counterfeit notes of Rs.500 denomination. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, K. Gopalakrishna Pillai, said the accused was arrested following a complaint by a bus conductor of the KSRTC bus. The accused had reportedly given the conductor a Rs.500 note, which was detected to be fake. The conductor informed the police when the bus reached Nilackal. The police have taken the accused to the Pampa police station. The Circle Inspector, S. Ajithkumar, recovered 48 more Rs.500 notes from the accused during interrogation.
