Congress too going TDP way: CPI(M)

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI, DEC. 10. CPI(M) leaders from the district, who are on a padayatra to mobilise support for the 8th district convention of the party, scheduled to get under way from Sunday, today regretted that the Congress, was also toeing the same line as the TDP government.

Addressing street-corner meetings, the party activists regretted that their senior alliance partner, the Congress, was not only backtracking on its poll promises but was also helping the contractors pocket precious exchequer funds and tax-payers' money. The Congress is doing precious little for the working class, they alleged, and demanded the party to fulfil its commitments to the people such as distribution of land to the landless, employment to unemployed youth and so on.

Among the leaders who participated were the district secretary, K. Murali, and district leaders Kumar Reddy and N.Chandrasekhar Reddy.

The CPI(M) floor leader, Nomula Narasaiah, is among the top party leaders scheduled to participate in the rally and public meeting slated for December 12.
