Cherian's Heart Foundation team for SVIMS today
By Our Special Correspondent
TIRUPATI. Dec. 10. A team of paediatric cardiologists from Cherian Heart Foundation will be visiting the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, on December 11 and 12 for a special medical camp.
The team has programmed to visit SVIMS every second Saturday and Sunday for the benefit of children suffering from heart-ailments in the backward Rayalaseema districts. The team, headed by Snehal Kulkarni, consultant paediatric cardiologist, will run the paediatric OP and conduct `cath study', a release issued by SVIMS said. The team will be assisted by the SVIMS Director, G. Subramanyam, and Rajasekhar, both cardiologists.
Free consultation
While the consultation will be free of cost, investigations will be done on 25 per cent subsidy during the inaugural camp.
Wards of the parents coming under below the poverty-line (BPL) possessing white ration-cards will get 100 per cent free treatment, including surgery under the TTD's `Prana Danam' scheme.
While the team will screen patients and identify those who need surgery, Dr. Cherian, who is expected to visit the hospital next month on second Saturday-Sunday, will perform the surgeries.
