Anand Swaroop in final

HYDERABAD, DEC.10. S. Anand Swaroop of Andhra Pradesh will take on Kassal of Delhi in the 45 years & above singles final of the GVK-AITA veterans national tennis championship tomorrow here.

In the semifinals today, Anand defeated Madhav Ghate (Maharashtra) 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 while, Kassal put it across S. V. Dore (Maharashtra) 7-5, 6-0.

The results: All semi-finals: 45 years & above: Singles: S. Anand Swaroop (AP) bt Madhav Ghate (Mah) 6-1, 3-6, 6-2; Kassal (Dli) bt S.V. Dore (Mah) 7-5, 6-0. Doubles: Settu & Uma Maheshwar Rao bt Ravindra Babu & V. Srinivas Reddy 6-2, 6-3; Ghate & Dore (Mah) bt Gajapathi & Shankar (Mah) 6-4, 6-4.

55 years & above: Singles: R. I. Singh (Dli) bt C. S. Rajan (Kar) 6-1, 6-0; T. Sridhar (AP) bt Vijay Shane (Mah) 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-4. Doubles: Ramakrishna & Vara Prasad bt Chenchuram Reddy & Adisesha Reddy 6-3, 6-4; R. I. Singh & Madan Mohan Singh bt T. Sridhar & T. A. P. N. Rao 6-3, 6-1.

65 years & above: Singles: V. Chiranjeevi (AP) bt C. B. Raju (AP) 6-3, 6-4; A. J. Keerti Kumar (TN) bt N. Padmanabhan (AP) 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3). Doubles: Gosavi & Date bt C. B. Raju & Palani 7-5, 6-4; H. D. Ballal & Sangameshwar bt V. Chiranjeevi & Laxman 6-4, 6-1.
