Praise for Kumble's feat

MYSORE, DEC. 10. Anil Kumble's memorable feat of surpassing Kapil Dev's 434 wickets and emerging as the Nation's highest wicket-taker in Tests has enthused past and present cricketers in his hometown - Bangalore. The praise was effusive and spontaneous.

B.S. Chandrashekar: It is a tremendous achievement. He is a fighter and he overcame the shoulder injury and other setbacks and emerged stronger. I wish him the very best.

Roger Binny: The feat reflects the sheer hard work that has helped him attain such great heights and with the way he has performed in the last few seasons I guess 500 wickets is the next reasonable target.

Venkatesh Prasad: It is a great achievement but first and foremost Anil is a perfect team-man and for him the team comes first more than individual records.

Brijesh Patel: It reflects his discipline, dedication and focus that has helped him to perform consistently all these years. We at the Karnataka State Cricket Association are proud of him.
