Two naxals surrender

KARIMNAGAR, DEC. 10. Disillusioned by the party ideology and ill- treatment by the cadre, two members belonging to the CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the Godavarikhani sub-division police on Friday.

Disclosing this to newsmen, the Godavarikhani ASP, Srikanth, said that the surrendered included M. Sampath alias Kumar (20) and M. Ilaiah alias Bhupathi (18) residing in Mallaram village of Koyyur police station limits. Sampath joined the Maoists group attracted by the party songs and he was given a DBBL weapon without any training.

Ill-treatment alleged

He was not allowed to talk to other party cadres and was ill treated in the dalam. When he informed the party about his surrender, the dalam threatened to kill him. Fed up with all this, he ran away along with his friend, Ilaiah, from the dalam and surrendered before the Koyyur SI, Srinivas Rao. Ilaiah was abducted by naxalites when the dalam came to Mallaram village some 20 days ago. He was forced to work as labourer and made to carry kitbags, clean utensils and other menial works.
