BRISBANE, DEC. 10. Rain forced the deciding match in the Australia-New Zealand one-day series to be called off on Friday, leaving the series level at 1-1 and both teams sharing the Chappell-Hadlee trophy. New Zealand won the first match in Melbourne last Sunday by four wickets and Australia came back with a 17-run victory on Wednesday in Sydney. There was no provision for a backup date as New Zealand was scheduled to leave Australia on Saturday. The trophy will be contested again late next year with two one-day matches in New Zealand and one in Australia. AP
