KOLKATA, DEC. 10. A resurgent Ever-Ready Association handed out holder Kingfisher East Bengal the first defeat of the local season with a 2-1 upset win in its concluding match of the Calcutta Football League's Super Division at Barasat Stadium near here on Friday. The goals for Ever-Ready goals came from Thomas and Satyajit Bose while Brazilian Douglas Da Silva scored the one for East Bengal. The result, hardly affecting East Bengal's fortune as the team has already ensured it retained the title collecting 39 points for an unassailable lead, gave Ever-Ready three crucial points to help the upcoming club brighten its prospects for the runner-up spot. Ever-Ready tallied 38 points from 18 matches and stole a march over former champion Mohun Bagan which is on 35 points from 17 matches. Our Sports Reporter
