Four policemen injured in stone-throwing

HYDERABAD, DEC. 10. Mild tension prevailed in old city when irate crowds resorted to stone-pelting injuring four policemen and two civilians soon after completion of noon prayers at Mecca masjid on Friday. Police caught four youngsters red-handed.

Even as everything passed off peacefully, a group of youngsters returning home after the prayers pelted stones at police parties at Charminar bus-stop. The situation was brought under control within seconds when police caned them.

A mob threw stones at a police party at Moghalpura fire-station resulting in injuries to Mirchowk ACP, T.V. Rajagopal, head constable, Md. Jaffer Ali, constable, Nagender, home guard, Abdul Hannan, Maithri committee member, Akram, and peace committee member, Abood.
