Clear day forecast

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 10.DEC. 10.DEC. It will be a misty morning for the Capital on Saturday according to the weatherman. The sky is expected to be clear for the rest of the day and the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 7 degrees Celsius, he added.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Friday were 23.4 degrees Celsius and 7.3 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum temperature recorded was 22.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 7.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum relative humidity recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 90 and 79 per cent respectively, while the minimum humidity at the two places stood at 37 per cent and 46 per cent respectively.

Child assaulted

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 10.DEC. 10.DEC. In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly criminally assaulted by her brother's teenage friend at Holambi Kalan in North-West on Thursday. The police arrested the accused today.

According to the police, the incident occurred late last night when Veer Pal (aged 17) slept in the victim's house. A resident of Holambi Kalan, Veer Pal was a friend of the victim's brother Sonu and worked as a waiter in a restaurant with him.

The victim's mother Lakshmi noticed that her daughter's clothes were blood-stained in the morning. On questioning, the victim told her that Veer Pal had behaved badly with her at night.

A complaint was lodged at Metro Vihar police station. The victim was then taken to Valmiki Hospital for a medical examination which confirmed that she had been criminally assaulted. A case has been filed in the Narela police station and the accused arrested.

Man killed

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 10.DEC. 10.DEC. A 24-year-old man was killed and three persons, including two Delhi police personnel, injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Sriniwaspuri in South Delhi today.

According to the police, Kuldeep, a resident of Jahangirpuri, had been taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he got injured in a scuffle during a wedding ceremony in Sriniwaspuri last night.

Head Constable Bajrangi and Constable Kanhaiya Lal, both from Sriniwaspuri police station, were bringing him back from AIIMS in an autorickshaw when an unidentified vehicle hit the three-wheeler near Sriniwaspuri flyover early this morning.

Kuldeep, the two police personnel and the autorickshaw driver were rushed to AIIMS where Kuldeep was declared upon arrival. Bajrangi, Kanhaiya Lal and the autorickshaw driver, Chhedi Lal, were admitted with injuries.

A case has been registered at Sriniwaspuri police station.
