BANGALORE, DEC. 10. A youth robbed a woman of a gold chain worth Rs. 10,000 in Girinagar police station limits on Thursday night. The police said that around 8.30 p.m. the youth came to the tailoring shop owned by Niranjani in 3rd Stage, 3d Main, Banashankari, and asked her to give "the blouse Sarojamma had given for stitching." As Niranjani was talking to him, the youth snatched her gold chain and escaped on a motorcycle on which his accomplice was waiting at a distance, the police said. The Girinagar police have registered a case.
Run over by train
Suresh alias Ramesh (30), an employee of a garment factory in the city, was run over by a train near Nagappa Block, between Bangalore City and Malleswaram railway stations, in the early hours of Friday. The Railway police said Ramesh, who was travelling from Chitradurga to Bangalore by a passenger train, could have accidentally fallen from the train. The city Railway Police have registered a case.
Man killed
Ramachandra G. Vajpayee (51) of 5th Block, Rajajinagar, was killed when a vehicle hit his scooter on Vatal Nagaraj Road around 6.30 a.m. on Friday. He was on his way to the city railway station, the police said. The Malleswaram traffic police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the vehicle. In another incident, Narasimha Murthy (26), a supervisor at a software company on Arehalli Main Road in Banashankari police station limits, was killed when a lorry hit him near his office. The police said the incident took place around 5.30 a.m. on Thursday. The Banashankari police have registered a case.
