KOLKATA, DEC. 11. The 64th annual regatta of the Amateur Rowing Association of the East (ARAE) has attracted 13 teams including a team each from Sri Lanka and Pakistan. One of the oldest rowing meets in the country, the ARAE regatta will be held at the Rabindra Sarobar lake from Tuesday to Saturday next. Among those clubs who have confirmed participation are Pune Institute of Engineering and Technology, Corps of Military Engineering, Officers Club (Pune), Avadh Water Sports Club (Lucknow), Lake Club (Chandigarh), Madras Boat Club (Chennai), Trishna Boat Club (Bangalore), Jagatpur Rowing Club (Cuttack), Karachi Boat Club and Colombo Rowing Club. Four local clubs, Bengal Rowing Club, Calcutta Rowing Club, Calcutta University Rowing Club and host Lake Club, will also participate.
