HASSAN, DEC. 11. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra made the boys and girls semifinals of the 29th junior National ball badminton championship. On the penultimate day here on Saturday, defending champion Karnataka boys defeated West Bengal 29-10, 29-13 while its girls routed Madhya Pradesh 29-8, 29-4. In the boys' semifinal, Karnataka takes on Tamil Nadu and Andhra clashes with Hyderabad. In the girls' section, Karnataka plays Kerala and Andhra plays Tamil Nadu.
Boys: Karnataka bt West Bengal 29-10, 29-13; Tamil Nadu bt Pondicherry 29-19, 29-14; Andhra bt Chattisgarh 29-19, 29-14; Hyderabad bt Maharashtra 29-13, 29-10.
Girls: Karnataka bt Madhya Pradesh 29-8, 29-4; Kerala bt Uttar Pradesh 29-6, 29-4; Andhra bt Punjab 29-5, 29-5; Tamil Nadu bt Hyderabad 29-15, 29-11.
League matches: Karnataka bt Chattisgarh 29-24, 29-14; Andhra bt Orissa 29-9, 29-5; Hyderabad bt Chandigarh 29-25, 29-20; Tamil Nadu bt Maharashtra State 29-17, 29-5.
