Jobs abound for `right' candidates

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI, DEC. 11. A large number of jobs are available for those with the right qualifications and aptitude, according to K. C. Reddy, chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Addressing students at a workshop conducted by the council on "Employment opportunities in IT and IT-enabled services" in SV University here on Saturday, he said there were more job opportunities with the advent of globalisation, as against the fear that it would lead to job cuts.

There are many jobs for the "right candidates" in Information Technology, its allied areas and marketing. He said that the workshop was aimed at presenting a comprehensive picture of the job market before students.

The president of Institute of Electronic Governance, Ghanta Subba Rao and the registrar of SV University, J. Pratap Reddy, also took part.

Representatives of five top corporate houses gave a presentation of their company profile, recruitment procedure, basic requirement, preferred qualifications and pay packages to the engineering, MBA and MCA students of Chittoor, Nellore and Cuddapah districts, who flocked to the SVU Srinivasa auditorium.
