Hockey
LAHORE, DEC. 11. Having managed to qualify for the bronze medal play-off, India would be keen to match its best-ever performance in the Champions Trophy hockey tournament with a win over Pakistan here on Sunday. India must be considering itself lucky to be still in the medal race, despite coming up with a mediocre performance. India got a chance to play for the 3-4 position after pipping Germany, which also managed to fetch four points. But Germany lagged behind in goal difference and would play in the relegation match against New Zealand on Sunday. The final will see two European powerhouses Holland and Spain fight it out for a slice of glory at the National Stadium. Olympic finalist, Holland, is seeking to win its third title in a row, while Spain must be keen to win the trophy for the first time. Holland would be the favourite for the title, but it cannot afford to take lightly Maurits Hendriks' team that has showed superb skills in the tournament so far. PTI
