Stop wasting House time, BJP tells Congress, TDP

HYDERABAD,
DEC. 11.
The BJP has criticised the Congress and the TDP for wasting time in the Assembly by indulging in mudslinging and personal accusations and demanded extension of the session to discuss burning issues.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the BJLP leader, G. Kishan Reddy, advised the two parties to utilise the opportunity to discuss important issues. He raised doubts whether the "real issue" of construction of irrigation projects would be discussed at all.
Portfolio issue
He regretted that important portfolios such as health, excise, women and child welfare, housing and power were not yet allocated. Functioning of these key departments had been badly affected, he added.
Mr. Reddy thanked the Government for ensuring passage of a unanimous resolution on categorisation of the Scheduled Castes. The Government should now persuade the Centre to introduce a bill giving effect to categorisation, he said.
