HYDERABAD, DEC. 11. Paying back the TDP chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu, in the same coin, the Congress Legislature Party has advised him to approach the Supreme Court with a plea to vacate the stay against the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) enquiry into the liquor scam. This was in response to Mr. Naidu's demand that the Government should approach the Apex Court against the High Court order in favour of the nine companies in the irrigation tenders issue.
`Politically incorrect'
The Government Chief Whip, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the secretary of the CLP, E. Pratap Reddy, on Saturday said Mr. Naidu was politically incorrect in avoiding the probe ordered by the ACB special court into the liquor procurement policy of his Government. To prove that he was not guilty, Mr. Naidu should approach court to secure an order in favour of the enquiry and come out clean in the matter. Meanwhile, the leaders said they had sent a notice to the Speaker, K.R. Suresh Reddy, against Mr. Naidu for breach of privilege in attributing motives to Mr. Reddy. The incident occurred during the Business Advisory Committee meeting on December 7 and the CLP waited for two days for Mr. Naidu to make amends. When the topic came up in the House yesterday, Mr. Naidu refused to correct himself or tender an apology. The CLP leaders said they were awaiting Mr. Suresh Reddy's decision.
