No more division, says Farooq

By Our Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE, DEC. 11. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference leader Farooq Abdulla has said that there could not be a further division of India.

Speaking at a civic reception accorded to the Congress leader K.P. Unnikrishnan, who won the Life Time Achievement Award instituted by the International Institute for Democratic Governance, today, Dr. Abdulla said: ``India wanted friendship with Pakistan. But can friendship be possible when terrorist camps are active in Pakistan?''

Dr. Abdulla said that it was the Indian Muslims who suffered the most when there was a clash between India and Pakistan. ``But never doubt the Indian Muslims. They are Indians first and Indians last,'' he said.

The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, who inaugurated the function described Mr. Unnikrishnan as one of the excellent parliamentarians in India.
