NEW DELHI, DEC. 11. A 50-year-old factory owner was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in his factory at Ashok Vihar in North-West Delhi on Friday. The assailants had apparently entered the factory with an intention to commit robbery but the elderly businessman offered resistance after which he was stabbed. According to the police, Ishwar Chand Bansal, a resident of Shakti Vihar in Shalimar Bagh, North-West Delhi, was at his factory-cum-outlet at Wazirpur Industrial Area in Ashok Vihar around 5-30 p.m. Four young men entered his shop and whipped out knives. They demanded the keys to the safe. However, Mr. Bansal, who was alone at the time, offered resistance and was stabbed by the assailants in his stomach. Despite being seriously injured, Mr. Bansal managed to raise an alarm after which the assailants got panicky and fled. Mr. Bansal was rushed to Sunder Lal Jain Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later in the night. A case of murder has been registered at the Ashok Vihar police station and further investigations are on.
