Misty morning likely

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 11DEC. 11.DEC. . It will be a misty morning for the Capital on Sunday according to the weatherman. The sky is expected to be clear for the rest of the day, with rise in the night temperature. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 9 degrees Celsius. The maximum and the minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Saturday were 25.2 degrees Celsius and 8.1 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum temperature recorded was 23.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 8.0 degrees Celsius.

The maximum relative humidity recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 95 and 97 per cent respectively, while the minimum humidity at the two places stood at 38 per cent and 54 per cent respectively.

Dost Meeting Point

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 11DEC. 11.DEC. The Delhi police have set up a "Dost Meeting Point" at the Inter-State Bus Terminus, Kashmere Gate to save passengers from harassment at the hands of the touts and anti-social elements.

The centre, which has been established on lines of the "Koban" concept of Japan, will also have information on DTC buses, Metro rail timings and also pre-paid booths for taxis and auto-rickshaws. Utility services like toilets and public phone booth have also been provided at the centre. The North Delhi police, which will maintain the centre, will take care to provide every possible information and all possible assistance to visitors so that they can carry on with their schedule without harassment.

Health

check-up

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, DEC. 11DEC. 11.DEC. A free medical check-up camp was organised at the Vikaspuri police lines here today for the personnel of the Third Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police.

At least 159 personnel from the Battalion had their health checked-up. The Battalion is responsible for taking undertrials from Tihar Central Jail to various courts and escorting them back. The doctors, who had come from various hospitals in the locality, laid emphasis on checking the stress levels of the personnel, apart from the effect their strenuous work had on their physical fitness. More such camps will be held in the future.
