Report sought on lecturer's attack

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, DEC.11. The Government is keeping a watch on the happenings in corporate junior colleges and has taken a serious note of Friday's incident in which a physics lecturer, Vikas Kumar, was allegedly kidnapped and tortured at the behest of the Nalanda College management.

The Commissioner for Intermediate Education, D. Chakrapani, on Saturday asked the Board of Intermediate Education to take immediate steps to prevent these colleges from indulging in unfair practices.

He called for a report from the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on the incident specifying the causes for being referred to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
