By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 11. An engineering student, Bharani, 18, died and three others, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured when an RTC bus hit the autorickshaw in which they were travelling at Moinabad on city outskirts on Saturday. The injured persons -- Gita, the victim's classmate, Shirisha, a housewife, and her daughter, Sai -- were admitted to the Shadan hospital.

Two other software engineers, who were returning home after visiting Chilkuru Balaji temple, rammed into the bus. Venkat Reddy and Subba Rao had their legs fractured and were shifted to the Shadan hospital.

Driver absconding

The three-wheeler driver fled the spot after the mishap occurred. While Bharani and Gita, first year students of Sri Vidya Jyothi Engineering College, Moinabad, were going to college, Shirisha and Sai were going to Chilkuru Balaji temple. All the four boarded the seven-seater at Mehdipatnam.

The bus coming from Tandur to Hyderabad hit the three-wheeler at a turning near Rani Engineering Walls factory. The bus driver, M.A. Khan, was taken into custody, the Moinabad Sub-Inspector, P. Praveen Reddy, said. Bharani, daughter of a caterer, Bhaskar Rao, was living at Gudimalkapur.
