HYDERABAD, DEC. 12. G. N. Gopal of Kerala, who settled for a draw with S. Arun Prasad of Tamil Nadu in the final round, won the 34th junior National chess championship for the Nutrine Trophy with nine points in Tirupati, according to information received here on Sunday. IM S. Poobesh Anand of Tamil Nadu was second with 8.5 points.
Final placings: 1. G. N. Gopal (9), 2. S. Poobesh Anand (8.5), 3. Akshat Kamparia (8), 4. Arghyadip Das (8), 5. T. Purushothaman (8), 6. Arjun Tiwari (8), 7. G. Rohit (8), 8. V. Somesh (8), 9. R. Premnath (8), 10. S. Arun Prasad (8).
